Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) vehemently denied a report Monday from CNN that he had told Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) a woman couldn’t be elected president, but she released a statement confirming the claim.

The CNN report claimed that Sanders made the comments at a meeting between the two presidential candidates in December 2018.

The Sanders campaign denied the report, which depended on four sources. The Warren campaign initially refused to comment on the story, which sparked much speculation.

Later on Monday, Warren released a statement confirming the report.

“Bernie and I met for more than two hours in December 2018 to discuss the 2020 election, our past work together and our shared goals: beating Donald Trump, taking back our government from the wealthy and well-connected, and building an economy that works for everyone. Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate,” Warren said in the statement.
“I thought a woman could win; he disagreed,” she said.

“I have no interest in discussing this private meeting any further because Bernie and I have far more in common than our differences on punditry. I’m in this race to talk about what’s broken in this country and how to fix it — and that’s what I’m going to do. I know Bernie is in the race for the same reason,” Warren continued.

“We have been friends and allies in this fight for a long time,” she concluded, “and I have no doubt we will continue to work together to defeat Donald Trump and put our government on the side of the people.”

Sanders had called the claims “ludicrous” and said the staffers reporting the exchange were “liars.”

Here’s more about the claims against Sanders:

    I have a question
When is Bernie Sanders not angry? He always looks like his head is about to explode.

Bernie and Warren are both pieces of s**t commies who hate America so don’t vote for either one of them! That would be MY advice to dem. voters. I know you want change but changing to something a lot worse than what we have now is NOT good, changing for the sake of change doesn’t work, we already tried that with Obama, or have you forgotten? the guy did nothing.. we are all still where we were in 2007 except that At least Trump is TRYING to make things better for US…AMERICANS. and he isn’t giving cash away to terrorists, flying around to every country and apologizing for beating them in a war or what ever… A lot of people in the US seem to have lost sight of what America is all about. yeah the hate and racism still needs to be addressed but the way the left is going about that is just as wrong as how the right handles it. We CAN all get along and live together as one, we just need to drop our egos and stop being d-bags! We should ALL be PROUD to be AMERICANS!

Backed Bernie in 2016 sent money. He was scammed by Hillary a woman and the DNC. I think, he might have won. Now I was not happy he just did not fight back on what they had done . Now he is so far left I cannot back him . I do not believe he ever would have said to Sen Warren a woman cannot win never ever. I even backed Sen Warren when she first ran for Senator. Now I do not see what I want as a President. I do in a Condoleeza Rice. I had liked Gabbard who was behind Bernie at one time but was so anti what Pres Trump did to the Iranian General. So not sure what she would do as President even though military now. Now I do back Pres Trump I see a Pres who fights for the workers again. He will do something for the health care gets past this scam Impeachment he has a plan for all. He said AFFORDABLE and for sure right now no health care is affordable.
