A crowd of protesters swarmed outside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Kentucky home after the Republican leader said he would move to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death.

About 100 protesters gathered outside McConnell’s Louisville home on Saturday after he said he would push for a Senate vote on filling the seat with the presidential election is less than seven weeks away, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.

The demonstrators called out “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Mitch McConnell has got to go,” “vote him out” and ditch Mitch.”

One arrest was reported during the protests that ended after about three hours.

The protesters said the voters should have a say in November’s election on whether President Trump will remain in office before a nominee is voted on in the Senate.

“I’m disgusted that Senator McConnell would treat this opportunity in a complete different manner than he treated the opportunity when there was a vacancy when Obama was nine or 10 months away from the election,” Laura Johnsrude, one of the protesters, told the Courier Journal. “I’m not surprised, but I am disgusted. I think that’s appalling.”

McConnell in 2016 refused to allow a vote for Merrick Garland — former President Barack Obama’s nominee to fill the vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia — because it was an election year.

McConnell said the situation in 2020 is different.

He said the American people re-elected a GOP majority in the Senate in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 “because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promise.”

These braindead idiots don’t even understand what the process is, according to the US Constitution. Trump nominates someone to a vacancy, and it’s up to the Senate to get it to the Senate floor for a vote. However, that process can take MORE than 7 weeks to accomplish, as the time between the actual nomination, taking into account that the nominee will even accept the position, and the time it takes to get to the full Senate floor, could take us past the election. Look at how long it took for Brett Kavanaugh to be confirmed… 88 DAYS! The nominee, once they accept the position, then have to go through a Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation process, along with a serious background check by the FBI. IF they pass the background check, AND the committee, with the committee voting on whether or not they’ll pass the nominee to the full Senate to vote on, could be well after the election. I expect this to take place, as the Democrats will drag their feet on approving the nominee in committee, because they want an even number, 4-4, on the SCOTUS when they contest the election results. With a new conservative Justice on the court, they lose their lawsuits, and Trump wins. That’s the LAST thing they want, as that throws their whole plan into the toilet… Biden being declared mentally incompetent, Kamala taking over, and then after her new VP is sworn in, oops, Kamala, you can’t be president either, you’re not eligible according to the 12th & 14th Amendments! She’s a naturalized citizen, and you MUST be a natural-born citizen to be eligible to be president or vice president. So, new VP pick moves up into the presidency. Well, guess who said she wanted to be president without having to run for the office again, back in June of 2018, in an interview with NPR? This is what they’ve got rigged for Hillary. It’s all a part of their playbook to get Hillary back into the White House.
