Ever since Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential election, liberals have been whining about how “unfair” the result is. Democrat have been so angry that a movement has spread calling for Clinton to run again in 2020, despite the fact that she’ll be well into her 70s by then.
That’s why millions of liberals are in mourning this week after a close friend of Clinton revealed that she is probably finished with politics.
“I’ve had many conversations with the Clinton family,” said Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, a longtime friend of the Clintons. “We’re friends. It’s hard, very tough. I think on Election Day everybody felt pretty good. I think the Trump campaign thought they were gonna lose. And you know, this is what happens in elections.”
“I don’t think Hillary has any interest in running again,” he added, according to The Washington Post. “I’ll let her speak for herself. I think the president’s probably going to go back, working on all the good deeds he’s done before in helping people around the globe. You know, there are elections. We’ve got to move forward. As governor of Virginia, I’ve got to move forward.”
McAuliffe, who chaired Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid, went on to say that though he was saddened by her loss, he is looking forward to working with Trump. He even sent the president-elect a congratulatory letter on the day after the election.
“I have known Donald Trump for 20 years, had dinner with him, golfed with him,” McAuliffe said. “When I ran [for governor] in ’09, he actually wrote me a $25,000 check. So I look forward to a productive relationship.”
“Would I much prefer to have President Clinton and Vice President Tim Kaine from Virginia? Of course,” he said. “But it is what it is.”
