A new poll released this week found that the majority of Republicans think that President Donald Trump is a better president than Abraham Lincoln, who served as America’s 16th president from 1861-1865.

In a poll conducted last week, The Economist and YouGov asked 1,500 American adults a wide range of questions, including: “Which Republican President Was Better?”

The poll, which was conducted after Democrats finished up their public impeachment hearings on the House Intelligence Committee, found that 53% of Republicans said they thought that Trump was a better president than Lincoln.

“Further polling also found that Republicans preferred Trump to George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon and Dwight Eisenhower—but not Ronald Reagan,” Newsweek reported. “71 percent of Republicans said they preferred Trump over both George W. Bush and his father George H. W. Bush, 82 percent preferred Trump to Ford, 86 percent preferred him to Nixon, and 65 percent preferred him to Eisenhower.”

Newsweek continued, “But pit against Reagan, 59 percent of Republicans said they preferred Reagan, the 40th president of the United States, compared to 41 percent saying Trump.”

“Abraham Lincoln, a self-taught lawyer, legislator and vocal opponent of slavery, was elected 16th president of the United States in November 1860, shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War,” History reported.

“Lincoln proved to be a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader: His Emancipation Proclamation paved the way for slavery’s abolition, while his Gettysburg Address stands as one of the most famous pieces of oratory in American history. In April 1865, with the Union on the brink of victory, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth; his untimely death made him a martyr to the cause of liberty, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history.”

“Ronald Reagan (1911-2004), a former actor and California governor, served as the 40th U.S. president from 1981 to 1989. Raised in small-town Illinois, he became a Hollywood actor in his 20s and later served as the Republican governor of California from 1967 to 1975,” History reported.

“Dubbed the Great Communicator, the affable Reagan became a popular two-term president. He cut taxes, increased defense spending, negotiated a nuclear arms reduction agreement with the Soviets and is credited with helping to bring a quicker end to the Cold War. Reagan, who survived a 1981 assassination attempt, died at age 93 after battling Alzheimer’s disease.”

Reagan was a great president, but Trump is better. Reagan didn’t have to deal with all the constant bullshit from the left and the media 24/7 like Trump does. To accomplish the things he has despite all that makes him one of the greatest, and possibly the greatest, president of all time.

    • proud patriot says:

Trump is a con man, a liar, a cheat, a traitor, a rapist, and a fraud. What has he accomplished, other than doubling the deficit and destroying the environment? Nothing. He has, however, ruined the nation. Never before have we been so divided. You, Michael are either a fool or a shill.

Wow!! Take your meds. Your TDS is out of control.
First, not one of your claims have been proven true in court.

Second, facts don’t lie. Stats don’t lie.

Third all Democrats lie cheat and rape. Watch your lib run cnn and msnbc for proof, see previous statement.

Proud Patriot has a real problem with reality. This one lacks the ability to process any rational thought due to an unhealthy obsession with President Trump. This nut is triggered and completely consumed. It is very likely that he does not even read the entire article, instead just reacts to the headline and writes an immature comment with no substance or intelligence. Laughable and pathetic at the same time.

        • proud patriot says:

Wow, you can read the WHOLE article! Your intellect is clearly far superior to that of the average CF reader. Can you cipher too? I bet you even know how to read books n stuff. Even Trump don’t read no gosh darn books! Wow you is impressive, Oh no.

          • Oh no says:

True Idiot. You are so pathetic. I bet my monthly income exceeds yours by a few zeros. You obviously are under the impression Trump supporters are uneducated. Good I am glad you are all that stupid and narrow minded. I find it quite entertainig how he consumes your every moment, as do his supporters .So, I would say you are the one that lacks all rational thought . How does it feel living your life completely angry and consumed? You are the true “moron” here and you display it again and again. And yes rational people do read the whole article and process it without becoming irrational and unhinged .Go change your diaper and wipe the drool of your face.

  • Guy says:

I would agree with this article. Reagan was a leader, a man of standing, Trump is not. He’s brash, rude and arrogant, but confident and forth coming. Don’t get me wrong, today we need a Tump in office, things need addressed and as non politician he could do it without political or outside pressure, But, he is no Reagan.

Different global approaches. Reagan would have delt with N. Korea way more aggressively, as it was in his wheelhouse.

Reagan’s approach to Iran was as it should have been but, changed noting. Trump may just damage Iran enough to make a difference.

Trump beats Reagan on the economic front, but Reagan started this approach, Trump saw the bigger picture which completed Reagan’s goal.

In some ways Trump and Reagan are tied for first place. We all know who THE worst in history is; worthless Obumbler!
