Secretary of Defense James Mattis steered clear of passing any type of judgement on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem during a press gaggle on a flight to India Monday.

“I’m the secretary of defense. We defend the country,” is all Mattis would give on the subject. Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning went a bit further in a briefing with reporters Monday with respect to service academy players, expressing his “hope” that they would stand.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly denounced the NFL and players who kneel during the anthem in recent days.

Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin was the first member of the Cabinet to support the president’s remarks saying Sunday, “This isn’t about Democrats, it’s not about Republicans, it’s not about race, it’s not about free speech. They can do free speech on their own time. That this is about respect for the military and first responders in the country.”

You can’t be on the clock at Walmart, and protest, so why should it be allowed at a game that the players are being payed obscene amounts to play?

  • Mattis is right: ” we defend our country”!

Down with Disrespectful and Traitors to America.

It’s really sad to see how politics has invaded this country. You can barely watch anything on TV. All of the talk shows, sitcoms, beauty pageants and award shows are filled with politics. Now, you can’t even take time out to watch a football game or any other sport besides NASCAR. I expect any day now to turn to the Weather channel and hear how “Donald Trump” caused a Tornado, Earthquake, Lightning strike, Fire, Blizzard, Hurricane or Flood,(well, they already said hurricane). PLUS his every word is magnified all day and night on almost every show on TV They must really admire and be in awe of Donald Trump seeing how much power he has. Maybe they should be careful about what they say if he’s that powerful.
