NFL owners are proposing that teams meet in the locker rooms before the anthem in order to decide if they wish to take the field for the song. If they decide to, they will be penalized 15 yards for each player who kneels.

The proposed deliberation and penalties were reported first by Sports Illustrated.

The in-game penalty proposed by NFL owners came during a three-hour session of conversation between owners and family members in Atlanta. The anthem protests led to the most controversial season in recent NFL history, where players and team owners fought with angry fans and the President of the United States over the unpopular protests.

The 15 yard penalty for kneeling was roundly criticized by NFL fans on Twitter.

Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid, two NFL players who were the first to kneel for the anthem, filed lawsuits against the NFL for “colluding” to keep them from playing.

Are kidding ? 15 yard penalty for disrespecting the country that provides your basic liberties? I will vote with my remote and attendance. I don’t need any “partial” attempts to act patriotic. Either you ARE or you ARE NOT patriotic. The “National Football League” cannot have OUR name for their disrespect.

I’m tired of seeing the SJW BS…If players want to “protest”…Do it on their own time and on their own dime…not MINE! If I “protested” on the job, I would be hitting the bricks…I have no sympathy for them or anyone else…

More than 52% of all NFL players are convicted felons!
Many of the stadiums in which the NFL plays, were built with TAX PAYER FUNDS!!!
Most of we 22 million Veterans CANNOT afford to attend NFL games.
Not that we would! We know how to maintain our reserves for future actions.
NFL sponsors won’t be seeing any purchases from this family, nor most of our 9,500 Face Book Friends, most of whom ar active duty, or veterans, and First Responders, and their families!

I wouldn’t just fine them!! I’d bench them with out pay or fire them. This is a job!!! I can’t protest at my place of employment about personal matters!! They are paid big bucks to play in stadiums paid for by us the taxpayers!! We pay for tickets to see the games!! This is not their private platform to use to protest their gripes against supposedly abuses!! Play the game! Respect the flag, our country, and our anthem or go back to your slums!!
