President Donald Trump scored a win — a temporary one at least — on Friday against investigations from House Democrats after a federal judge halted Democrats’ subpoenas of the Trump Organization’s financial records.

“Judge Emmet Sullivan made the decision Friday shortly after the appeals court above him said it wanted to hear the emoluments case,” CNN reported. “The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said Friday it should hear the case, about the emoluments clause of the Constitution, before the Democrats collect evidence. But the court isn’t ready to hear the case just yet. The panel of three judges directed the Justice Department and the lower court on Friday to take more legal steps, because of legal technicalities, before it will hear the case.”

Within the past few weeks, Democrats have issued dozens of subpoenas targeting multiple Trump properties including Mar-a-Lago, the Trump International Hotel, Trump Tower, and others.

The subpoenas that the Democrats issued were due in 10 days, on July 29.

CNN further noted that a “different appeals court recently ruled in favor of Trump, effectively killing a separate emoluments challenge brought by the DC and Maryland attorneys general.”

Last week, news broke that federal prosecutors with the Southern District of New York were preparing to end their investigation into whether Trump Organization executives broke campaign finance laws.

That report, originally from CNN, was confirmed this week when “Judge William H. Pauley III announced that prosecutors in the Southern District of New York revealed this development to the court in a status report,” Fox News reported.

Fox News added that the end of the investigation “likely means no additional charges will be filed against anyone, including the president.”

“We are pleased that the investigation surrounding these ridiculous campaign finance allegations is now closed,” Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow said in a statement. “We have maintained from the outset that the President never engaged in any campaign finance violation.”

Every person who signed onto the subpoenas or voted for them should be investigated and charged. You cannot use your government position for political gain. It is illegal. It is unethical. And it is immoral. But what do these democrats care. Their puppet masters should be charged as well.
