Conservative radio host Dan Bongino announced to his listeners on Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with a tumor.

“It’s a tumor, but there’s a strong likelihood that it is not cancerous,” Bongino told his followers on Rumble, a platform he recently bought a stake in as a response to YouTube censorship, adding that at first he thought the growth was a lipoma. “We don’t know what it is. It’s in a very weird spot in my neck near my carotid artery, near vocal cords and things, and it is big. It’s 7 centimeters … It’s scary.”

“I noticed when I came out of the MRI machine that the look on the doctor’s face changed a little bit as he told me in the room inside that it is not a lipoma,” an emotional Bongino said as he fought back tears. “Which was very scary.”

Bongino thanked his wife, his fans, and his doctors before adopting an optimistic tone and telling his fans that life and his show go on “no matter what happens.”

“We have two lives,” Bongino said, quoting American novelist Bernard Malamud. “The life we learn with and the life we live after that, and the genuine path to happiness is through suffering.”

Bongino told his audience he is flying to New York on Friday for more information on his condition and will update his fans then.

The 45-year-old Bongino immediately received an outpouring of support and well wishes on Twitter from colleagues in news media.

“This was done beautifully, heart-breakingly and with class,” journalist Megyn Kelly tweeted. “Praying for you Dan.”

“Dan, you hang in there — your friends are pulling for you all the way!” former U.S. attorney and Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy said.

“I’m so sorry Dan, prayers up for you and your lovely family,” author and Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce tweeted. “Please keep us up-to-date”

“Good luck with treatment Dan,” conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt told Bongino. “Lots of broadcast colleagues have gone through this and recovered rapidly to encourage others. You’ll be in their number soon. Payers for you and your family.”
