Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, Alveda King, is a bold woman who is unafraid to say what she thinks, and she had some pretty blunt advice for Representative John Lewis.
“I believe that Congressman Lewis can actually help America by working with the president,” Dr. Martin Luther King’s niece said. She also recently revealed she actually voted for Donald J. Trump for president.

Alveda King currently serves as the director of Civil Rights for the Unborn and Gospel Life Ministries. She is also a former Georgia state representative.
“I pray that all polar opposites learn to Agape Love, live, and work together as brothers and sisters — or perish as fools,” she said. By “agape” love, Ms. King refers to a form of love, named by the ancient Greeks, that is a universal love for all people and God.
Ms. King also said, “While I voted for Mr. Trump, my confidence remains in God, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Alveda King has also previously stated that she hopes the 45th president of the United States can bring racial healing to America.
Dr. King’s niece had some more thoughts on prayer: “I’m born into a family of preachers. So I want Mr. Trump to remember that many people who voted for him took a long time praying for him.”
King, 65, believes that if President Donald Trump is willing to accept the prayers, along with some divine guidance, he will be able to accomplish great things for and in America. “We do need unity, and from my perspective as a minister myself, God has not forgotten America,” she added.
President-Elect Donald Trump is being lambasted as a racist by Representative Lewis and his pals on both the left side of the aisle and in the mainstream media. The man has a right to say what he thinks and to defend himself against unfair and unproven allegations.
Trump’s responses to John Lewis on Twitter were wholly justified. Lewis threw the first punch and should not, as we all likely said as children, “dish it out if he can’t take it.”
Liberals should definitely take a cue from Alveda King. They have jumped to a whole host of conclusions about how Donald Trump will govern. Their concerns are not based on what is best for the country, but only on their careers as politicians and their own bottom line.
