Former First Lady Laura Bush publicly thanked First Lady Melania Trump for her “sweet” gesture on Tuesday.

Melania Trump personally invited the Bush family to visit the White House and see the Christmas decorations and some of their old friends while they mourn the passing of former President George H.W. Bush.

“A sweet visit during this somber week,” Mrs. Bush wrote in an Instagram post.

She added, “Thanks to Mrs. Trump for inviting our family to the White House to see the Christmas decorations and our old friends, the residence staff.”

Melania’s sweet surprise comes after President Donald Trump’s incredible gesture to honor H.W. Bush after his passing. He personally ordered Air Force One to transport Bush’s body from Houston and then back to Washington.

“Air Force One will be taking myself and a large group of our people back to Washington. It will then be reset and it will be sent to Houston to pick up the casket of President Bush and then be brought back to Washington,” Trump said.

“We’ll be sending Air Force One, which is a special tribute that he deserves very much and it’s my honor, and again, he’ll be greatly missed. Terrific person, terrific man,” the president added.

“Looking forward to being with the wonderful Bush family at Blair House today. The former First Lady will be coming over to the White House this morning to be given a tour of the Christmas decorations by Melania,” Trump tweeted. “The elegance & precision of the last two days have been remarkable!”

Many people paid tribute to George H.W. Bush on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., including 95-year-old former presidential nominee Bob Dole.

He fought to get up from his wheel chair so he could properly salute Bush, a fellow World War II veteran.

Thank you for your service, Mr. President.

It’s hard to compare the Class that the Bush families brought to the white house, compared to what the CLinton’s represented.

Laura Bush brought the same kind of class to the White House that Melania has brought. Both are real ladies. I was always proud of Laura and when Barbara was there, she was my favorite woman ever. She was the jewel of the Bush Family. Things changed later on. Most of it political, but I do believe if the Obamas stay out of things, the Trumps and the Bushes can become friends. I am sure that Obama stirred the pot a great deal. I never understood HW Bush becoming good friends with Bill Clinton with his alley cat morals. Just something I didn’t understand.

Rebecca. You make such a grand comparison between Mrs. Laura Bush and FLOTUS Melania Trump. The rest of them should take lessons from these two LADIES! Ms. Clipton certainly showed those present what SHES made of. What a disgusting display of lower class commoner. She takes first prize. And to think she wanted to be president!!! Thank God for the USA that she did not. As for the Obummers, stay the hell out of the Presidency! They had their chance too and blew it. His ‘silverlying tongue’ could not carry him through once elected..that’s all he had.
One day, it will all come out and he’ll go down in history all right but not in the way he would want! He’s like Clinton, he just cannot let go and they haven’t realized it, yet, that the people don’t want them anymore!
